The life and times of Australia's Baby Boomer generation

Baby Boomer Central reflects the lives and times of what is known as the Baby Boomer generation, and in particular, those of that generation who lived and grew up in Australia. The sociologists and the media define Baby Boomers as those born between (and including) 1946 and 1964. They are the children of people who were married after World War II, or the children of those married prior to or during the war but had withheld starting their families until the conflict was over. Without them, Australia's population would not have doubled during the last forty years of the 20th century. Following the Biblical reference to a generation as being a forty year period, this website covers the first forty years of the Baby Boomer generation - 1946 to 1985 - which consist of at least the first 21 years in the lives of ever Baby Boomer in Australia. |
